Job Description

G2i Inc. is seeking a skilled DevOps/DevSecOps Engineer to join their fully remote team. This is a full-time position focused on building and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure.

In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and evolving our AWS infrastructure, including services like ECS/Fargate, RDS/Postgres, S3, IAM, and VPC. You will also be responsible for maintaining and improving our CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and implementing Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform.

Key responsibilities include setting up alerting, log aggregation, and performance dashboards for monitoring and observability, as well as implementing secure-by-default practices to support SOC 2 and HIPAA readiness. You will also write Python/Bash scripts for automation and assist with database operations, including Postgres tuning and migrations.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or SRE roles, with strong AWS expertise, particularly in ECS and Terraform. Familiarity with scripting for automation and production Postgres environments is essential. Bonus points for experience with Ansible, compliance frameworks, Kubernetes, or AI/ML infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve AWS infrastructure (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Postgres, S3, IAM, VPC)
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and Infra-as-Code (Terraform)
  • Set up alerting, log aggregation, and performance dashboards (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry)
  • Implement secure-by-default practices; support SOC 2 / HIPAA readiness
  • Write Python/Bash scripts for backups, monitoring, deployment hooks, etc.
  • Assist with Postgres tuning, access control, and migrations
  • Lay groundwork for container orchestration (EKS/Kubernetes) if/when we scale beyond ECS

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in DevOps, DevSecOps, or SRE roles
  • Strong AWS experience, especially ECS and Terraform
  • Experience implementing or improving monitoring systems and incident workflows
  • Comfort with scripting (Python, Bash) for automation and operational tooling
  • Familiarity with Postgres in production
